June 30, 2025
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Dismas House celebrated the incredible spirit of service at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Event on Wednesday, June 26, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This heartfelt gathering brought together current and former residents, volunteers, mentors, board members, and friends to honor those who make Dismas House more than a transitional housing program—it’s a true family.
Each year, the Volunteer Appreciation Event offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the power of community and shared purpose. Attendees were inspired by personal testimonials from residents and volunteers whose lives have been deeply impacted by the mission of Dismas House.
“We are proud to celebrate the people who walk alongside our residents every day, offering support, mentorship, and unconditional care,” said Steven Murff, CEO of Dismas House. “This event is our chance to say thank you to the individuals and partners who make our work possible.”
This year’s honorees included:
- John Jenkins, Jr. Resident Service Award – Delchon Weatherspoon
- Student Service Award – Audra Davis
- Community Partner Service Award – Mental Health Cooperative
